Introduction. Every country in the world has its own peculiarities in customs and logistics infrastructure. For ease of assessment, development of logistics system of various countries and their comparative characteristics the world Bank developed the logistics performance Index (LPI). This increased logistical efficiency is important for growth and trade. The country's ability to trade with other countries depends on access to a global logistics network and freight. The efficiency of the supply chain (cost, time and reliability) depends on the individual characteristics of the economy, as well as from the construction of the logistics system.

Objectives. The index of logistics and indicators of competitiveness of Ukraine and the countries of the European Union.

Methods. In general, the establishment and implementation of information systems for existing and existing international logistic systems; graphics, and group method for analyzing and displaying the effects of the active systems data.

The logistics performance index is calculated for each country once in two years on the basis of information received through questionnaires from more than 1,000 of the largest international logistics companies. LPI was first published in 2007 and later in 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016, the Index provides the opportunity to analyze and compare the logistics business in 155 countries of the world.

This process occurs on a 5-point scale, evaluating each of the 6 positions of the logistics system, reflecting the efficiency. The LPI is calculated by the formula:

where LPI is the average of weighted assessments of the effectiveness of the logistics system;

C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6 – effectiveness evaluation;

Ni – the total number of evaluations (1)

Ukraine intends to to significantly improve its logistics position in the years to come for World Bank LPI to enter the list of 50 best countries of the world, for which there are all opportunities in the country (3).

Results. In Fig. 1 graphically describes the dynamics of LPI (logistics performance Index) from 2007-2016.

According to the data of Fig. 1, we can conclude that the leading position in 2016 Germany (4.25), Belgium (4.11) and Austria (4.10) took the first place in the year. In 2014 according to the results of the research, the most developed country in the world, as a logistic plan and in 2012 and 2010 Germany is recognized. The final index value of the country was 4.12 points The top three leaders in 2014 were complemented by Belgium (4.04 points) and France (3.85) . The lowest figures for 2016 were Estonia (3,36), Portugal (3,41), and  Poland (3.43) closing the global list.

In 2007, Ukraine's LPI (Logistics Performance Index) ranked 73rd (lowest position for the last 10 years), with a score of 2.55. In 2010, the position was 2.57 points. In 2012, compared to 2010, Ukraine has risen by 36 positions at once. In 2014, Ukraine has taken the highest position since 2007. In 2016 position compared to 2014 decreased from 61 to 80th place and amounted to 2.74 points.

Ukraine, in comparison with the leaders of this sphere, shows the relative but low values of this index (2.74). This resulted in the existence of the following problems: the deficiencies of the units, their logistics, the lack of proper transfrontier infra structure, the poor quality of roads.

Conclusion. Answering the results of the calculations, it is possible to conclude that the leading position in 2016 was occupied by Germany and Germany (4.25), Belgium (4.19) and Austria (4.10).  Ukraine is seen as one of the leaders in this sphere, showing ֺ is relative but the low value of this index is (2.74).
