BASIC MODELS OF HOSPITALITY

In practice, there are four main models of hospitality, namely: European, Asian, American and Eastern European.

1. The European model is represented by the hospitality of "high flight" and high reputation. In addition, the European hotel market is the most common and developed. Distinctive features of European hospitality are the desire of European hotels to reduce the capacity of the room stock; the most expensive hotels are located in unique places and houses, in the historical centers of cities; traditionalism and demanding of expensive hotels for guests; automation of European hotels, which does not replace personal relationships with guests.

2. The Asian model of hospitality is most fully reflected in the love of Asians for luxury, ostentatious wealth, gigantism. If in Europe the hotel category is inversely proportional to its capacity, in Asia the opposite. Distinctive features of Asian luxury hotels are: the most successful location; larger area of rooms and public spaces; larger capacity; luxury and richness of interiors and exteriors of hotels; low cost and availability of services; the ability to use a variety of infrastructure and additional services.

3. The American model of hospitality has features of both the European model and the Asian one. Thus, in the centers of the largest American cities are common luxury hotels that meet the requirements of typical European hotels (style, small size, individual service). On the other hand, the main resorts and tourist centers of the country are built up with hotels, externally and internally reminiscent of Asian (larger capacity, luxury, well-developed infrastructure).

4. East - European model of hospitality stands out from the European because of the large share of post-Soviet enterprises of the hotel industry, as well as, as in the American model, the neighborhood of hotels, typical of both European and Asian models.

The main trends in the development of the hospitality industry that have developed include the following: deepening the specialization of hotel and restaurant offer; formation of international hotel and restaurant chains; development of a network of small enterprises; introduction of new computer technologies.

At the same time, OA Dzhandzhugazova identifies eight trends in the global hospitality industry, namely: the expansion of the hotel business to other products and services, the growing democratization of the hospitality industry, which greatly enhances the availability of hotel services to the mass consumer; strengthening the specialization of the hotel business, which allows a clearer focus on certain segments of consumers, taking into account various characteristics; development of new types of tourism (ecological, adventure, extreme, some thematic areas, allows to take into account the interests of almost any category of consumers and make the tourist product more sophisticated); globalization and concentration of hotel business, which is manifested in the creation of tourism corporations and hotel chains; hotel associations, unions, international governmental and non-governmental organizations are also created; deep personalization of service and full concentration on inquiries and needs of clients; wide introduction of new means of communication and information technologies that allows to carry out deep and system economic diagnostics; introduction of new technologies into the business strategy of the hospitality industry. In particular, the widespread use of the Internet to promote hotel products and services; and the proliferation of modern computer reservation and reservation systems.
